Teresa and Leam met in Dublin on March 1, 2009. They were both on a break from their jobs and had travelled to Ireland with friends and family. On the final day of their trip, Teresa sat down with two of her friends in the Davy Byrne´s pub on Duke Street in Dublin City Center; right next to a group of Murphy´s enjoying their Sunday roast.
The conversation between the two groups began and after much laughter and several pints of Guinness, the evening continued with short tour of Dublin´s pub scene.
At the end of the evening they went separate ways and not much contact was made until Leam traveled to New York City to visit Teresa in June 2011. Teresa then visited Leam in Hong Kong 6 months later at the beginning of 2012. They flew to Phuket in Thailand for a few days before enjoying the Chinese New celebrations back in Hong Kong. Six months after that, Leam flew to New York again.
The long distance relationship was tough, but they finally made the decision to make this work during a holiday together in Spain in 2013. They arrived in Madrid and drove north to visit Zaragoza and the Pyrenees, followed by a night in Perpignan, France. They finished the trip with several days in Barcelona. It was then they decided this is what they wanted and Teresa decided she would take the jump and move to Hong Kong to be with Leam.
Teresa moved to Hong Kong in June 2014.
On April 4, 2015, Leam proposed to Teresa under the cherry blossom in Namsan Park in the middle of Seoul, South Korea.
Teresa and Leam decided to get married in Granada, because of the perfect views, the weather and the magical romance of the city. They had a beautiful wedding on a warm spring afternoon of May. They flew to Spain from Hong Kong where they now live, friends and family flew in from Ireland, the United States and Hong Kong with Teresa being from the United States and Leam from Ireland. They had a non-religious blessing ceremony in the Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula, in Granada.
The bride, her mum and her bridesmaids all got ready together in the Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula. With hair and make-up provided by Sabina.
