Alex & Ian chose the Hotel Fuente del Sol in Antequera for their wedding in May 2016. It was an absolute pleasure to see Alex and her family again after organising her sister Susie’s wedding at the Palacete de Cazulas back in 2012. We were delighted to be the wedding planners for this lovely family yet again!
Alex and Ian’s was a holiday romance with a happily ever after. They first met on holiday and kept in touch afterwards. The distance was a challenge at first as Alex was living in Madrid and Ian in London but they made it work and then Alex moved back to London. And now they’re married!!!
The Hotel Fuente del Sol is a beautiful rural boutique hotel set in the mountains of Antequera surrounded by poppy fields.
The Groom got ready with his groomsmen in the Hotel, all dressed in kilts as per their Scottish Tradition:
The bride got ready in a different room in the hotel with her bridesmaids:
The bride, her father and the bridesmaids made their way through the gardens to where the ceremony was held by the lake. The ceremony was officiated by the lovely humanist minister Natasha Johnson.
Drinks and Canapes were served in the gardens and the patio before the guests made their way inside for the wedding reception and Alex and Ian went off to the poppy fields for some photos.
The decoration was a combination of vintage and rustic chic. The flowers were a selection of green succulents and peonies, roses and gerberas in pale pinks, coral and orange colours. The wedding cake was a selection of cupcakes in different flavours (raspberry and white chocolate, lemon and Victoria sponge) with a Victoria sponge for the top tier made by Susan Archer who also provided a candy cart with Spanish sweets.
