you will be given time to settle in to your hotel or apartments and then
taken on a tour of a selection of "Tapas" bars in Granada.
Day 2
You will be taken to the Alpujarras, a stunning mountain range interspersed
with picturesque white washed villages, on the south side of the Sierra
Nevada. During the morning you can choose between a guided walk, horse-riding
or mountain biking. In the afternoon you will be taken around some of
the villages where you can sample the local wines, cheeses and the Serrano
ham that this area is most famous for. There will also be time for some
shopping in the many local craft shops.
Day 3
A guided tour of Granada will be organized, starting with the typical
breakfast of "churros con chocolate". The tour will begin in
the modern commercial parts of the city where the best shopping areas
can be seen. It will then wind through the narrow street of the historical
quarter during which the history of the city will be explained and places
of interest will be pointed out. The tour will end with an optional meal
in a restaurant overlooking the Alhambra. The afternoon will be free for
shopping, or to visit any of the monuments you have seen during the tour.
In the evening you can choose to go to a flamenco show or the Arabic baths
which includes a relaxing aromatherapy massage.
Day 4
You will be collected from your hotel or apartments, and taken to the
Alhambra. You can choose to take yourselves around the Alhambra and enjoy
its beauty at your own pace or join one of the guided tours (for a supplement
of £17.50) and learn more about its history. After the Alhambra
we will drive into the Sierra Nevada for lunch in a typical restaurant
serving traditional mountain fare, followed by a gentle stroll around
the picturesque village of Guejar Sierra.
Day 5
You will be collected from your hotel and taken
to the Coast by private minibus. Here you can choose to take a trip in
a 4x4 vehicle through the national park, visit coastal monuments and stalactite
caves, or simply wander round the coastal town and sit on a sunny terrace,
sometimes even in winter it is possible to sunbathe so bring your swimming
togs! In the evening you will be taken to Malaga airport for your return
flights home.
